I do, don't you?! Especially when you have been blog-jumping instead of writing your OWN post and you then realize most people out there are either A) funnier than you; B) more interesting than you; or C) have way more readers/friends/commenters/blog love than you. Then you come across a good ol fashion MEME and the author says "take it on over to your place if you wanna play" - and you do - and life is good again :-D Thanks MEME! whoever you are :-D
So this is the "First Letter MEME" with just a few simple rule:
- Use the 1st letter of your name to answer each of the following.
- They do not have to be favorites, but they MUST be real places, names, things…NOTHING made up!
- Try to use different answers if the person before you had the same 1st initial.
- You CAN’T use your name for the boy/girl name question.
- If you can’t think of anything, skip it.
- Have fun!
Think I can handle it so here we go!

YAY ME! I am hosting (and I use that term quite loosely) another Masterpiece Monday! I don't know if this thing is going to take off or not or even if I really care, but it give me an excuse to showcase all my hard work (read: brag about my craftiness/justify spending so much money)! :-D So this week I scrapped at my 'lil sis' Rachelle's house and only got 3 pages done, it wasn't too bad since I had 3 kids with me, an hour and half drive one-way, and only a couple hours to do it - all in all - guess I did ok. But not to be out done ;-) I am also posting a couple layouts I did a couple weeks ago too, Ya know why?? . . . CAUSE I CAN! :-D So here ya go on a Masterpiece Monday . . . enjoy! This is from the couple's album I'm working on. It's our first annual Holiday Dinner. We had a couple couples over and it was so much fun. We all took turns taking pics "Under the Mistletoe"
Still working on the other side of the spread though, stay tunned! :-D
This is our Fourth of July you can find the story HERE. This is the first page of the spread
This is STILL our Fourth Of July 2007, this is spread 2 - page one, my fav though because of that picture of him 'tolerating taking pictures' - not so well
"From Start to Finish" is page two of this spread. I put these pages together pretty fast I was actually quite proud :-D
So that is my contribution to Masterpiece Monday! My BFF posted a few masterpieces of her own and has suggested I make this one of those linky things, would anyone else be interested in linking?? I would love to come up with a cute lil graphic or something, learn how to do a Mr. Linky, whatever! I think I'll keep doing it though, just cause I like it ;-) So feel free to post a masterpiece or two of your own! And if you do, please comment and let me know so I can come check it out! I am ALWAYS looking for inspiration!

P.S. OH YEAH! She is a "Top Mamma" today too so go click her linky (the cute one of her and her dh and her two kids) and let's keep her that way! :-D

I must smell or something. Do I smell ya'll? Cause all of my friends left me a while ago and moved far far away. Most of them moved STATES away :-( I KNOW . . . POOOOR ME! You know what it is, CALIFORNIA stinks . . . not me! They all left for different reasons, better location, military, better job opportunities - but it can usually be traced to how hard it is to be able to live comfortably here. I'll tell ya, if it weren't for our custody requirements we would be SOOOOO outta here! Probably not out of Cali exactly, just to a nicer area. We're improving that A LOT with the new house but central Cali has problems. North would be great. Oregon would be better. I really think we'll end up there someday. ANYWHO, oh yeah I was talking about how everyone I love has abandoned me . . . let's get back to that! ;-) j/k
It has been nice lately though. In the space of the last month(ish) I have gotten to see all my AWOL BFFs and their families and it has been GREAT! It's been so fun having places to go, great women to hang out with, people to TALK TO! :-D I miss that stuff so much sometimes. I know I tend to isolate myself more than I probably should, but when all of your peeps move a minimum of 6 hours away, it's hard not to!
So first it was my lil sis Rebecca coming down for her sister Rachelle's wedding and pre-wedding celebratory events. We had a GREAT time. Mangotini's were involved . . . of course! We got to hang out A LOT being in the wedding and all. Then she had to jet back off to Kennessee where her man is stationed while protecting our country. Then a couple weeks ago I got to see my preggie friend A (I haven't exactly asked her how she feels about her actions, pics, and name being given out to millions of people - it could be millions, YOU DON'T KNOW!). We went to the lake one weekend and the next weekend I drove up to see her crib in Northern Cali.
Now my BFF Sherry from Texas is here! After DRIVING out here from there she will be staying for like 3 weeks! Last night I used her visit as an excuse to go to my first scrapbook class! I get emails from like 6 different stores around here and the classes all sound like SO much fun but I just get all scared and don't go. So I figured if I had a partner in crime it wouldn't be so scary, I was right! The class was so fun and I got an album plus like 8 pages done! It's really cute, as soon as I put pics in I'll post it. We had fun hanging out there and then since this was the only night-time excursion we'd get without kids . . .
MANGOTINI's HERE WE COME! We sat and had dinner and a drink and talked A LOT! It was really fun.w00t! I miss having her here to go do stuff with but it was nice to get out with her while she was here. Today I get to take her to see my house since I'm really not sure when she'll be back! It's only in the flooring phase right now, but the model sure is nice :-D So that'll be fun too. I'm sure I'll have more stories and pics to share tomorrow!

Ya know every so often I need to remind myself what a gorgeous place California can be. My little everyday area in the valley isn't stunning exactly, but it does have it's little areas if you look for them. NOTHING, however, compared to northern California. One of my oldest friends lives up there and this weekend I knew DH would be working on his mama's house and I would probably just be sitting around. So, I got that road trippin hair up my b**t and said "SOOOOOO, how would you feel about having a GUYS weekend this weekend?! You boys could work on the house together, you could take him to the races, eat meat, fart and scratch your butts . . . SOUND GOOD?! CAUSE I'M OUTTY BABY!" ;-) or something like most of that. After some whinning and huffing and puffing he finally caved and said he'd find a way to manage without me, I think it was the farting and scratching that won him over ;-)
So Friday morning after waiting and waiting and WAITING for the AC guy to get here and restore my cold air goodness, me and my three little girls jumped in my fully packed car and got the hell outta dodge! We picked up my friends daughter who was down here visiting her dad and got on the road. We all did suprisingly well for having 5 girls in a little civic ;-) We got to the 1/3 of the drive marker and stopped to potty and get a snack and since it only took like a little over an hour I was feelin good! I had been told that the incredible journey would take 6 hours! So I was thinkin "OH MAN! we are totally ahead of schedule! w00t!" Then we turned onto what they loosely refer to as highway 20 for another 1/3 of the journey. THAT TOOK FOREVER. It was all twists and turns and 15mph areas, but it was pretty, I'll say that. There were such beautiful lakes and rivers I had never seen before. About 20 miles into that leg of the journey I was thinking to myself how lucky I was. How lucky I was to have the freedom to take my kids and just go. To be so close to such amazing beauty and nature and all that. That was aproximately hour 3. By hour 4 I was like "oh yay, more #$%@ing TREES!". By hour 5 I was thinking "please kids, don't throw up, don't throw up. There is no shoulder, there are no bags in here, and I think we are 453,884 miles from a rest stop so PLEASE don't puke!". Hour 6 I was thinking "Why in GOD'S NAME are there no Starbucks up here?! Do they not think that on a 897,868 mile trip you would need a little white mocha pick me up?! Damn hippies..." ;-)
Then we were there. We got there at like 7:30pm and everyone seemed to get their second wind. We BBQ'ed and talked and laughed and had the best time. The 3 older girls retreated to the loft upstairs to watch movies and play games and try to conceal their plans for world domination (i.e. staying up all night) and after I laid the baby down in the back room we had adult time. We just sat around talking and laughing some more, it was great.
The next morning, my alarm (read: baby screaming) woke me up at the butt crack of 6:30am. After chasing Mad all over the house trying to keep her out of stuff and quiet cause my friend is very preggie and very tired, I fed her and decided to get out and look for my fix (venti white mocha non-fat no whip) Hehe, don't mock me but before leaving for the trip I scouted out EVERY Starbucks drive-through location along the Highway 101 so I knew for SURE there was at least one in her town! Then I lost the directions and had to fend for myself. So me and the baby and lil B hoped in the car and went looking. After about 30 minutes of aimless, but pretty!, driving I finally wised up and just called 411. By that time all I needed as an adress cause I knew EVERY damn street in town! I found my haven and even found my way back to her house :-D Then I let the baby run around outside for awhile cause that was the only way I could sit down for more than a split second. It was the front yard so I sat on the porch and marveled at her beautiful neighborhood. The houses are older but so pretty. Looking down the hill she lives on you can barely see rooftops of the house because there are so many trees. Ever seen the Goonies? Well her street could be in that town.
Once everyone was up and fed and dressed we took off for the farmer's market in a neighboring town. We picked up some fruit for the beach and grabbed a pizza where the most miraculous thing happened . . .MY daughter, held a puppy. Ok, that may not sound so miraculous and blog worthy to everyone, but if you know my kid you know why. For the past 6 years she has maintained a totally irrational fear all dogs. When we first got there she was TERRIFIED of this tiny lil guy! But slowly, and without me pushing her, she took baby steps to over coming her fear. On the drive there she chose to ride with me instead of her BFF because the dog was there. When we got there she actually asked to hold his leash! Later she actually TOUCHED it. THEN after walking and petting him, SHE HELD HIM! THIS WAS HUGE FOR HER. I told her how proud I was of her for taking charge of her fear and not letting it control her. :-D YAY R!
Then we left for the beach. And this was SOME BEACH! I love nor-cal. It's where the mountains meet the beach, my two favs. It can be foggy though, and so I took this picture when we got settled in. You could no longer see that hill an hour or so later. But it was still warm and the ocean was actually not that cold either!
The girls spent almost the whole time there on their boogie board.
This was R's first time on one and after her first spill in the first few minutes we were there I was afraid she would get scared and slink back to the beach. But she didn't! She kept on going! The two of them had a great time.
Poor lil B got cold after being knocked to her knees and drenched so she layed down under a towel and took a lil nap. Then after poking her sleeping sister, this is what my baby did...I'm sure you can guess...
RAN . . .
AND RAN . . .
oh yeah AND RAN . . .
Oh, and had some sand with her pizza, and her fruit, and with her water ;-)
We went back and hung out and had dinner and me and the girls we asleep before 11:00, so much for world domination ;-) The next morning I had planned on getting up early and going to get donuts and my coffee and being back before everyone was up. I wanted to get an early start cause I knew I needed to leave by 12. HA! So much for plans. I had parked in my friends driveway the day before and she parked behind me when we got back from the beach . . . so she was still parked behind me. I didn't remember that until I had gotten the two little ones up and dressed so we could get out! LAME. I didn't wanna wake her preggie ass so I just packed up all my stuff and straightened up a bit. Got the other girls up and dressed so we'd be ready. Oh, and chased and chased and chased the baby.
After donuts and coffee we headed out to this park down the street from her house she wanted to show me. It had a park park area with like 4 play structures and a slide coming out of a gigantic tree that Mad loved.
And a cute little gazebo
And then we walked over to where I saw more big trees and I had no idea how big they were! It's this HUGE park inside with these enormous trees! Then we piled into her car and drove down to the bottom past what you see here!
Even the view through her sun roof was pretty!
At the bottom there was another play structure,
And trails going EVERYWHERE. R found this cool little tree swing,
And a lake with picnic areas. This whole place was absolutely beautiful, my pictures don't do it justice. And all this is down the street from her house.
After all that, it was time to go :-( I was sad. It's hard to leave a place like this, and harder to leave my friend. The trip back was a little harder too. With just my three in the back they got a little crazier. And I took a different route home too, which was even more beautiful and not so riddled with 15 mph curves, just bay area traffic. We did make it home though, tired and still a little sandy. I wanted to post Monday but it was a little crazy trying to clean up after the men have been home all weekend - alone. I can't wait to go again though! :-D

I have FIN-DAMN-LY been awarded the Rockin Girl Blogger award! w00t! YAY ME! Bout time! ;-) j/k . . . mostly. I am a Rockin Girl according to A Not so Desperate Housewife because:
"Not cuz she's my best friend but because she is hilarious! Before I moved we'd hang out weekly and always had a great time. Now we read each other's blogs and I still have a great time. She has a wit about her and can put a funny spin on most anything, esp her sometimes hectic life with four kids, co-parenting & a crazy cat lady next door! You really should browse around her blog. {& leave some comments while you are there, she can see you} ;)"
I gotta say, it's all true :-D w00t! Though I don't FEEL funny all the time, I look back at some of my other posts (feel free to do so also :-) and I laugh at myself and really, that's what I do it for. If you can't laugh at yourself, who's gonna laugh at you? Um, I don't know for sure if that's how the saying goes, but it works for me ;-) I am honored she thinks I ROCK and I shall do my best to keep ona ROCKIN! Cause if you can't ROCK you're friends, who can ya ROCK? ;-)
So here are some other chicks who ROCK me, in a totally clean G-rated way :-D
- My Magic Harp Strings - Sherry is a ROCKIN chick for sure. She one of my BFFs and she has been known to help me out of some pretty deep holes even though she has more going on in her life than anyone else I know! She shares herself and her life totally and really gives you hope as she takes lemons and makes lemonade! THAT TOTALLY ROCKS!
- A Quiet Symphony - Mel rocks on a pretty consistent basis. She enjoys the X-Files ALMOST as much as me and that alone ROCKS pretty hard. She is full of wordy goodness and has cute little kitty videos on her site that make me laugh, and that ROCKS! She is a wife and a mother and a pretty ROCKIN christian, she ROCKS!
- BIG Mama - I don't know her or anything, just found her blog one day when I had nothing better to do, but she ROCKS! She makes me laugh, out loud, just about EVERY day and THAT is pretty ROCKIN to me. She just has a way of putting things and making everyday life FUNNY. I strive to do that too but I think she's way funnier than me :-D So if I ROCK then she TOTALLY ROCKS!
- still me - This is Heidi Swapps blog. She is a big star in the scrapbookin world! She ROCKS because not only does she have awesome scrappy stuff but she has HELLA kids, a hubby, a busy life, a GREAT scrapping line (did I mention that ;-) and her blog is so positive! She balances everything she has going on and maintains that outlook that I strive for everyday, and that POSITIVELY ROCKS! I totally get that no one's life is perfect, but it's her outlook that comes across on her blog that makes ME feel more positive! I love that! and I think it's pretty ROCKIN'!
- The Lazy Organizer - I found Lara's blog through a friend of mine and it has become a daily read for me - she gets me excited about organizing - THAT ALONE ROCKS! She is the answer to a slightly OCD persons prayer! She ROCKS the organizational thing hard as her site is totally devoted (mostly ;-) to helping ME become organized and put together! Don't we all dream of that day? Ok, so only me and maybe one other person do, whatever, her site is FULL of OCD organizing freak goodness! I have found all kinds of ROCKIN' ideas, pictures, and products here that make me excited about getting my S**T together! YAY HER!
So that is my ROCKIN GIRL BLOGGERs list. There are tons more chicks I think rock but they all already have the award and I wanted to spread the love around, I'm sweet like that :-* So, if you know a chick or two or ten that ROCK and you wanna make sure they know it, go post! Tell em! Speak it from the mountain tops! We women ROCK!

I really didn't know what to post about today, I only knew that something drew me back time and time again. I have been doing a Menu Planning Monday thing the last few weeks but everything fell apart last week as far as that went. I just don't function well in the extreme heat. I don't wanna
- cook
- clean
- make my bed
- go out
- stay in
- exercise
- stay still
basically, I don't wanna do anything. It got so bad here on Friday that even with the "swamp cooler" on all.damn.day it was 92 degrees in here, at like 7:00 at night. It was scheduled to be 106-MILLION degrees here so I scheduled us to be somewhere else. I went to my lil sis Rachelle's house for a scrap-tacular time :-D (that means we were scrapbooking - for you non-scrap happy folks). I loaded my three girls up and got the HE** outta here fast. We had fun there and I got two spreads done of my fourth of July pics so YAY ME! Rachelle I think really enjoyed her first time hosting the scrap-tastic event at her apartment. She made cookies and had her new hubby make us dinner. So that was nice. We didn't leave until my DH called and said the temp in the house was no longer the same as the sun.
Saturday I had already planned on getting out of the house too. My friend from way up north was coming into town so I figured we could do SOMETHING. I only had my littlest one this weekend and DH was working on the house so I went and picked her and her daughter up and we went to Woodward Reservoir where we saw the fireworks. It was fun, thought the lake looks a LOT different in the daytime! This place was PACKED. We drove forEVER and found a sad little tree to park our butts under in the searing heat - yeah that's right - F.U.N :-) The water was MURKY and you wondered what the F**K you were stepping in the whole time, but hey, it's water and it's not in "Georgia". It was a pretty good time though. We had fun in the water, the baby almost drown due to her LIFEjacket but hey why would you think to trust a LIFEjacket with your kids LIFE. She was top heavy and everytime she bent down to splash in the water she went down - FACE FIRST! And couldn't hoist herself back up! After like the 5th time she (and I) got kinda pissed ;-) So I blew up her little inflatable raft/boat thingy and she laid back like she was exhausted, it was cute. She was content for a while and we paddled around the little area we had to ourselves. We ended up not leaving until like 8! I had no idea how late it was until I got in the truck to head out. I got home and it was only 84 inside! :-D
So then Sunday I did like nothing. DH worked over yonder on the rental house and I did just about nothin. I started to scrap but only got a page done and got upset that I couldn't finish the facing page. That was pretty much IT. Sigh...
Today I did better though. I got dishes done, 6 loads of laundry done and PUT AWAY (!), packed two boxes, and a post :-D Thing was, I totally had a case of the Mondays :-/ I was just pissy and bitchy and tired and grouchy and SHORT on patience. I don't know what it was exactly, I just seem to get this way on Mondays. I just feel so out of place here. Sigh...I could probably make some of this funny, but I just don't FEEL funny today. DAMN YOU MONDAYS! Anyways, that was today, and Friday and Saturday and Sunday. Just sayin...hope you all had a great (and cool) weekend!

Okay, here are a few things I have learned...
- I.NEED.air.conditioning.to.FUNCTION!
- They don't call it a "swamp cooler" for nothin!
- "Swamp cooler" + hot temps = Georgia in the summer time.
- I don't EVER want to visit the south during the summer time.
- I don't like sweating just walking from one end of the house to the other - I have a small house.
- No AC + 106 degree temps = 1 CRANKY mama!
- I you live in Texas or Kennessee and still want my cranky ass to visit, it will take MANY mango-tini's to get me there!
- It's really dumb to add an exercise habit to your SMART Habits Saturdays when you have no gym membership, no AC, and it's 14,000 degrees outside.
- I wish my friends lived closer, and had AC, and had no jobs so I could hang out in their air conditioned goodness all damn day.
- I.NEED.AIR.CONDITIONING.TO.FUNCTION
- I love digital (hehe - thought that was gonna be about AC didn't ya?! Stealthy...that's me)
- I don't love taking 238,937 pictures and having 15 come out - but I love it digital instead of on film!
- I love scrapbooking, but not even THAT is fun in "Georgia" (read: my house after 11:00am)
- Scrapbooking on the fly is more difficult that I thought, fun, but difficult
- I love finding cheap scrappy stuff - makes it WAY easier to justify to the DH! (got a sweet travel case normal $39.99 for $7.48!!!!! - JoAnn's ya'll)
Hmmm what else have I learned not related to scrapbooking and hating "Georgia" . . .
- Blogging with pictures is easier/better than without.
- It ALSO helps if you have a point.
- Most times I have one, guess which one!
- I love comments.
- I am a comment whore.
- According to a BFF, "that's better than being just a regular whore" - I'll take it ;-)
- I miss REAL smileys, like the one on IM that does the "loser" thing with the L on the foreheard = funny :-D
- I miss having my girlfriends around, I didn't appreciate it enough while they were here.
- And even if I did, which I might have, it still sucks.
- I can not WAIT to have tile floors.
- CARPET SUCKS by the dinning room (read:by the high chair)
- I am a procrastinator.
- I already knew that, I just put off admitting it ;-) (hehe - get it? ;-) yeah that's about the level of humor around here at 7:00 and it's already "Florida" in here (read: 77 degrees w/ a humidity of 100%ish)
- Running out of time to plan the day out of the damn house...coffee is done...so is this entry...
TNT! Wish me sanity people, luck is just not with me... :-D

Hope you all had a great 4th of July! Our day around here started out pretty uneventful. DH worked at his crazy mother's house installing a shower, I worked around here. We didn't have our kids for the 4th this year since we had them last year so it was just going to be US! The baby was still just a little too small to stay up so late and she is really freaked out by loud noises so we decided to leave her behind, I MEAN, put her to bed :-) and have his crazy mother come over so we could go enjoy a good show.
We decided to try out a place near Rockwell Manor so we know where to take the kids next year. First we tried to break into Rockwell manor with only the temp-lock on still to, ya know, "christen" the place ;-) but our plans were foiled by that damn temp-lock. So instead we went to Woodward Reservoir and before getting there I was picturing like a dam and rocks - NOT the case thank goodness!
We drove in and it was this cute little lake where everyone was swimming, camping, BBQin, just having a good ol time! So we found a little out of the way place to hunker down for the show.
There was a ledge next to where settled in and when I walked over I found that we had a little beach area just for US! Facing pefectly where the fireworks would be...
So I talked DH into bringing our chairs down and we sat with our feet in the rippling water. It was relaxing and cooling since it was like 14,000 degrees outside! We ate dinner (YAY Quiznos!) and had an ice cold beer.
He was pretty good about it all . . . since I did have him move us a couple times, and he hates sand in his toes (CRAZY TALK!), and I took about 738,379 pictures testing out flash/natural light/ISO speeds/etc...
Well, he was PRETTY good about it ;-)
