When else besides vacation can you have left over apple pie for breakfast ;)
Or leftover pizza LOL
I LOVED this vacation for all of the things we don't normally get to do like that. Sunday morning we all had another lovely relaxed morning of coffee on the patio and kids playing Wii and totally out of my hair :)
Let me tell you, it was AWESOME. We decided not to stress out about trying to fit everything we could into the few days we were here. We had originally planned this trip around two things: 1) Taking the Boy to Magic Mountain to process the season ticket we have and 2) Picking up a tool chest thing my Uncle was giving to the Hubs.
Usually when we go on a vacation, it's just a quick 2 days one night thing and so packed full of fun that we need a day to recover! This time, we tried to spend more time relaxing and it was SO nice!In the afternoon, we took off on our own to a big open air mall a few towns over.
While I ran into a few stores we don't have up here, the Hubs was a sweet heart and took the kids on the ferris wheel and the carousel that were RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MALL!
What a GREAT plan is that?! Stores for the adults and rides for the kids :)
It's so rare that the Hubs ever just sits and takes it easy that he really made a point of doing it this weekend.
That he kept telling me to go in more stores and he sat outside with the kids and just enjoyed being still. He's such a sweety :)
We went to Red Robin for lunch and the kids got the BIGGEST KICK out of the balloon animal lady! I wish I would have gotten a picture of their penguin and pretty pink flower! They were just so impressed! LOL
Lil Miss sure does like to take pictures, well she likes to try ;)
Since they were so good at the mall and no doubt had some pent up energy to get out, we took them to a beautiful park near my aunt and uncle's house.
These pictures just don't do it justice! It was SO pretty! And it had a bunch of tables and two sets of living room type seating areas! We sat on a little bench and chair with a coffee table and the kids ran and ran. There was a family next to us who REALLY had it down. They had coffee, a cheese and cracker platter, and a bottle of wine - all set up in their little area! It was SO cute! And TOTALLY what I'm doing next time! We could have spent the whole afternoon there! LOL
When we got home the kids played with the dogs some more, and introduced them to bubbles ;)
My aunt made a lovely dinner and her mom and some friends came over to join us! It was quite a party! The kids kept themselves busy with Wii Skateboarding and Hoola Hoops LOL
And well, you can guess how I kept busy ;)
It was SO much fun! We were going til pretty late, her mom is such a crack up! We went to bed just EXHAUSTED but it was so much fun :)
And then we were up again bright and early to get ready to hit the road home. But first ... we were heading to Magic Mountain!!
